Adult dose: 6 - 18ml per day, unless otherwise prescribed. 

Raspberry Leaf is a well known traditional uterine tonic recommended for use in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Common name: Raspberry leaf

Family: Rosaceae

Part used: Leaf 

Habitat: Cultivated widely but also found natively and growing wild in many areas of Europe and Asia.

Constituents: Ellagitannins, gallotannins, phenolic acids, flavonoids

Actions: Anti-diarrheal, partus preparator (helps prepare for and recover from childbirth), parturifacient (to help accelerate labour), astringent

Traditional and current uses:

• To prepare for labour (taken during third trimester)

• To help the uterus shrink down in size after childbirth

• To ensure healthy uterine function

• Painful periods, as a secondary support for heavy periods

• Diarrhea

• Tonsilitis, conjunctivitis, mouth ulcers, pharyngitis (topical or as a gargle)
