Habitat:
Constituents: Anthraquinone glycosides, rhein, aloin, malic acid, tannic acid, cascarosides A, B, C, and D, and hydroxyanthracene derivatives (HAD).
Actions: Stimulating laxative, stimulating to digestive tract including pancreas, stomach and gall bladder.
Traditional and current uses:
• Short-term use in cases of occasional constipation
• In a low dose as a mild purgative
