Echinacea and Elderberry Compound
£10.00 100ml

A 50/50 blend of Elderberry and Echinacea tinctures, both traditional favourites to support a healthy immune system at the first sign of infection.
Echinacea purpurea, Sambucas nigra, organic grain alcohol
Take at the first sign of a cold or sore throat. One teaspoon (5ml) every couple of hours.
Use with caution in first trimester of pregnancy and seek professional advice before use.
Do not give to children under 12.
Excessive doses, if undiluted or on an empty stomach may cause passing gastric upset in sensitive individuals.
Allergies to echinacea and members of the Asteraceae family are known, but relatively rare.
Some concerns have been raised about liver toxicity and the pyrrolizidine alkaloid levels in echinacea, but the type present in echinacea are not liver toxic (they have a 1,2 saturated necine ring).
Though there is some evidence that echinacea has an effect on CYP450 liver enzymes, there is no evidence of any interactions between echinacea and prescription medication.
